The 21st anniversary of “A Meal to Remember” returned to Atlanta on November 7 to raise money for Meals On Wheels Atlanta, a program of Senior Citizen Services, that has been delivering daily meals to homebound seniors in the metro area since 1970.
This year’s elegant black-tie reception was chaired by Monica Dioda Hagedorn, Mo Akbar, and Charlene Crusoe Ingram. The theme, “An Evening in Vicenza,” celebrated the 500th birthday of architect Andrea Palladio with the tastes of northern Italy. The auction featured food and wine, trips, fine art, and more.
“I never knew how important Meals On Wheels Atlanta was until I delivered meals to seniors,” stated event chair, Mo Akbar. “It’s more than just daily nutrition. For some people, their meal delivery is their only human contact each day.”
BNY Mellon Wealth Management was honored this year for their commitment to Meals On Wheels Atlanta.
Jack Sawyer, Regional President of BNY Mellon, has been supporting Meals On Wheels Atlanta for more than a decade, and has been largely responsible for his company’s four year Presenting Sponsorship of “A Meal to Remember.”
Guest chefs for this year’s event were Pierro Premoli from Pricci, Atlanta, Georgia; Theo Schoenegger from Theo’s, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas; Niko Cristian Sinisgalli, from Vivahotel Laurus, Florence, Italy; and Alessandro Circiello, Grand Hotel Plaza, Rome, Italy.
